Code of Conduct

This page outlines the standards of behavior expected from all participants in the depkeeper community. We are committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and harassment-free environment for everyone.

This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant v2.1.


Our Pledge

As members, contributors, and maintainers of depkeeper, we pledge to foster an open, welcoming, inclusive, and harassment-free environment for everyone, regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, gender identity, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.


Our Standards

Expected Behavior

  • Demonstrate empathy, respect, and kindness toward others
  • Welcome new contributors and support their learning
  • Give and accept constructive feedback gracefully
  • Take responsibility and apologize when mistakes occur
  • Focus on what benefits the community as a whole

Unacceptable Behavior

  • Sexualized language, imagery, or inappropriate attention
  • Trolling, insulting, or derogatory comments
  • Personal, political, or religious attacks
  • Public or private harassment
  • Publishing private information without explicit permission
  • Any behavior that would be considered inappropriate in a professional setting

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies within all depkeeper community spaces, including GitHub Issues, Pull Requests, Discussions, and any public space where someone represents the project. Representation includes using an official project email, posting via a project account, or speaking at events on behalf of depkeeper.


Enforcement

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, report it through the channels described in the Security Policy. All reports will be reviewed promptly, fairly, and confidentially.


Enforcement Guidelines

Community leaders follow these guidelines when addressing violations.

1. Correction

Community Impact: Minor inappropriate behavior or first-time offense.

Consequence: Private written warning explaining the violation and expected behavior. A public apology may be requested.

2. Warning

Community Impact: Repeated violations or more serious behavior.

Consequence: Formal warning with clear consequences for continued behavior. The individual may be asked to avoid interaction with affected parties for a specified period.

3. Temporary Ban

Community Impact: Serious or sustained violations.

Consequence: Temporary ban from participation in all community spaces. Any attempt to circumvent the ban may result in escalation.

4. Permanent Ban

Community Impact: Pattern of sustained inappropriate behavior, harassment, or discrimination.

Consequence: Permanent ban from all community participation.
